A New Website for IFMSA
It is with extreme pleasure that we are officially launching a new website for the Federation. Working against the clock, we have beaten most odds. In less than five months, we have been able to build, develop, and launch a brand new functional website.
As you will be able to see, the website has been totally restructured, with the objective of making it more representative of our activities, of our members, and of our spirit. New sections have been created, and old ones have been completely updated and renewed. For instance, you will find a whole section on our meetings – including the General Assemblies, the Regional Meetings and the Team of Officials Meetings – and a part on our external work, with a place for you to be aware of the latest opportunities and open calls in the field of advocacy. There is even a place for us to promote the activities of our national member organizations, as well as the projects and campaigns done under our Programs. You will also notice that the blog has been fully integrated to this new platform – again to avoid the duplication of places you could find the relevant news, updates and information on IFMSA. The design has also been revamp, and we have doted ourselves with a responsive template, which will make it easier for you to enjoy the website on your cellphones, tablets, and computers.
Additionally, we have proceeded with the creation of a totally brand-new database, where both our Professional Exchanges (SCOPE) and Research Exchanges (SCORE) will be able to work to keep the world’s largest and oldest medical exchanges network alive and growing. With over 10.000 users per year, our databases have a lot to deliver. We are confident that this new platform will ease the work of everyone – national officers, local officers, incomings, outgoings, directors and international assistants.
We would like to thank TudioWeb, and especially their team leader, Moize, for their professionalism, their continuous work and their incredible efforts to deliver something up to our expectations.
Special thanks also go to Mustafa Ozan Alpay, IFMSA New Technologies Support Division Director (NTSDD) for his support in the migration of the data from one platform to another; and to Omar Cherkaoui (IFMSA Director for Professional Exchanges) and Luiza Alonso (IFMSA Director for Research Exchanges) for having overviewed, prepared and tested the new platforms for the exchanges programs.
On behalf of IFMSA Executive Board 2014/15,
Claudel P-Desrosiers
IFMSA Vice-President for External Affairs & Project Lead
