IFMSA, Healthy Energy and Climate at COP21

IFMSA is glad to officially support the side-event at the UNFCCC Conference of Parties (COP21), organized by the Health and Environment Alliance (HEAL) and the French National Medical Association-Conseil National de l’Ordre des Medecins (CNOM) that will take place on the 4th of December in Paris. It will give leading thinkers an opportunity to discuss health professionals in action for Healthy Energy and Climate. The goal of the event is to share experiences from the health sector in making transparent and widely-known the health costs of fossil fuels, the subsidies afforded to unhealthy energy and key opportunities for divestment as solutions to reduce global threats to public health and reach a healthy energy future.
IFMSA will represented?at the panel of this event by?Skander Essafi, IFMSA Liaison Officer for Public Health Issues for this term. He will be speaking about medical students engagement in climate change in the past years, and the importance of building capacity for a healthier world.
