Name of the activity: Yes, I’m a Gift
Country/NMO: Bolivia (IFMSA-Bolivia)
Program: Organ, Marrow & Tissue Donation
Contact information: [email protected]
Type of the activity: Education
Focus area:
Organ donation
Problem statement:
Many medical students, are afraid to talk about the topic and don’t have information about it, and some of them doesn’t want to be donors. We want to change that perspective, so as future doctors we can provide the information to the society.
Target groups and beneficiaries:
Target group: University Students
Beneficiary: General Population
Objectives and indicators of success:
– Change the perspective of university students: we will count all the new organ donors that will suscribed.
Methodology:
There is 3 simple steps:
1.- Information fair: organize a fair with all the information about donation of organs, such as what organs can be donated and what can be done in the country, steps to be a donor and the notarized list so they can register that day
2.- Outdoor movie: project miniclips about organ donation and the movie “7 pounds” directed by Gabriele Muccino, invite all university students to attend the film and then make a small reflection about the film and miniclips that were projected
3.- Conference: with the people in charge of the donation program in the country, hold a conference on all the information, doctors who perform transplant operations will also be invited
Plans for evaluation:
In 2013, there were 35000 donors, so we will have new stadistics for this year and we will show how many of them are university students
