Type of the activity: Capacity Building (Training or Workshop)
General description:
1. The sale of flowers:
The first activity of our project was a sale of flowers, March 08, marking the
beginning of the month of the woman. At the Faculty of Medicine of Rabat ,
this sale of flowers is in its 3rd edition and is considered as a gesture of
support and valorization of the woman on this sacred day.
2.Conferences and round tables:
The second project was a conference, followed by round tables
of honor the president of the Moroccan Women’s Democratic Association (ADFM).
The latter introduced us to the association (ADFM), and gave an overview of the work she undertakes at the national level. She also informed us about the situation of the Moroccan woman nowadays and then follows a debate during which students, previously informed about the topics have the opportunity to discuss with the president.
Several questions were raised concerning the various problems that Moroccan women (marriage of minors, marital rape, harassment). The main purpose of this constructive mission was to raise the awareness of youth, in this case medical students, to the problems of our country in order to act in the near future or
far away, to the extent that we are destined to be true social actors in within our country.
3.Self defence:
The third project is part of a completely different register from the
previous one, in the as a self defense session was organized.
Indeed, in partnership with the ELITE gym in Rabat, SCORA was
able to offer some 30 young women a self-defense session, during
which they received the basis of defense against an aggression.
This project was a real success, and everyone had a good time.
Beneficiaries were also offered symbolic T-shirts with written on it
“m3aya ana?” Which means “Don’t mess with me”
4.The lady Gala:
The last project of the month, and the most important was the Lady Gala. This event had as main activity a fashion show, in order to value the value of women within the society. This parade was organized, prepared and directed by students from A to Z. In parallel, singing performances were offered at this gala, by women mainly to remind them again of their importance and their rights fundamentals. The main objective of the project was to reflect a positive image of the woman, and he was largely hit.
Focus area:
Women Empowerment
Problem statement:
The whole world celebrates International Women’s Day on March 8th of
each year, but we SCORAngels of Mediation, celebrate it all month long.
Indeed, our committee organized a number of different activities in 2017, all
different from each other but with one common goal: to celebrate the
woman, and to promote her role within our society.
Target groups and beneficiaries:
Our target groups were all women, for whom women’s month mustn’t only be a month to celebrate, but a occasion to riot against the inequalities and fight in order to get equal rights.
Objectives and indicators of success:
– Celebrate women’s day
– Advocate and give practical ideas to fight gender-based violence and harassments
– Give women their value
Methodology:
The goals were achieved by turning our ideas into 4 activities:
1. The sale of flowers,
2. Conferences and round tables,
3. Self defence,
4. “The lady Gala”.
Plans for evaluation:
The activity was as evaluated based on the goals we set and whether we were able to realize them, as well as the number of beneficiaries
