Problem statement:

NTDs are one of WHO challenges to eradicate that has been discussed in the MInisterial Meeting 2017. Indonesia as part of SEARO agreed upon this topic and actively contributed to reduce the number of NTDs infection. Indonesia MInistry of Health stated optimization is needed to eradicate NTDs in Indonesia which are affected by many factors (Sehat Negeriku, 2022). If we correlate it to research, in general, Indonesia in 2020 was still 45th in total number of publications in world (SCImago, 2020).

Objectives:

-Gives experience and train research skill to SCORE CIMSA UGM 2021/2022 members

-Increases knowledge SCORE CIMSA UGM 2021/2022 members about ways to choose title and construct an appropriate research

-Increases awareness of SCORE CIMSA UGM 2021/2022 members about importance in doing research and publishing research results

-Promotes research activities to medical students as an effort to increase the number of research publications in Indonesia, especially health topics.

-Presents SCORE CIMSA UGM 2021/2022 members’ research results 

-Research results will benefits the society to better improve strategies in handling NTDs

-Increases general public’s knowledge and awareness about NTDs

Indicators of Success:

-SCORE CIMSA UGM 2021/2022 members (26 people) able to conduct and finish their research until the research outcomes, such as poster and scientific paper

-Increases volunteers’ knowledge about NTDs measured by minimal mean post-test score of 60%

-Increases SCORE CIMSA UGM 2021/2022 members about research and publication measured by minimal mean post-test score of 60%

-Increases knowledge of SCORE CIMSA UGM 2021/2022 members and general public especially medical students regarding research and publication measured by mean post-test score of 60%

-Attendance of SCORE CIMSA UGM 2021/2022 members is 70%

-60% of satisfactory feedback score 

Methodology:

First, to prepare the research itself, 3 months before the peak activities start, SCORE CIMSA UGM members are divided into 5 groups with different research topics related to NTDs. Second, we hold an air 3-days air campaign to make the general public aware of NTDs basic knowledge, issues, and prevention. Third, we plan to conduct a virtual exhibition to present our research. Fourth, two weeks after the peak event, we continue to make a bigger impact by publishing research posters to social media. Fifth, we also want to measure awareness and knowledge about research and NTDs after 1 month and a half. Sixth, we are planning to publish the research.
