Problem statement:
In Poland there are lot of fundations and orphanages which are taking care of schoolchildren in need. They provide them an access to necessary items. But those are schoolchildren and sometimes they don’t get hepl from their guardians in learning. Our project “Two heads are better than one” is addressed specially for those kids. Our volunteers are going to those fundations or orphanages and they are helping kids with studying for exams, making their homeworks or teaching them new skills.
Target groups:
- Other Students
- Children
- Youth
- People with disabilities
Beneficiaries:
- Healthcare Students

- People with disabilities
Objectives:
Project is addressed for schoolchildren with troubles with learning in school. Our volunteers are going every single day to fundations or orphanages and they’re teaching kids with studying for exams, making their homeworks or teaching them new skills. We measure how activities are helping kids by looking at their achievments and progress in school. Those activities are optional for kids so everyone who wants our help can come to us and we will help them. But we hope that at least 25% of children in those facilities would like to take help from us. We provide help in variaty of subjects the kids have in schools (eg. chemistry, English, Polish, Math).
Indicators of Success:
We measure how activities are helping kids by looking at their achievments and progress in school. We ask them if they’re happy with their grades or want to improve them, if they want to be prepared for extra contests and do some other extra activities.
Methodology:
We organise tutoring classes in fundations or orphanages in which they are living. Our volunteers who don’t have “their students” go there every other day to see if kids need our help and they’re staying there for couple of hours. And volunteers who have their own protege have scheduled their meetings with kids. By cosistency of helping kids, our protegies see how important is knowledge and that they can achieve they dream goals. Children see our commitment in our actions and it’s an extra reason for them to improve in their studying.
Plans for evaluation:
We’re looking at their grades in school before our tutoring classes and after. Also we’re looking at their bahaviour and commitment towards school.
