Type of the activity: Campaign. Combination of education and advocacy. Campaigns create awareness in society about a certain topic (education aspect) and try to funnel this awareness into pressure on the decision makers to adapt policies accordingly (advocacy aspect).

General description:

It is important to point out that sex is not just a matter of adults, adolescents are more and more engaged in sexual practices. There is a high percentage of sexual activity among young people between 14 and 22 years old. thus, sex as beautiful as it can be, just as natural with so much importance in the eyes of people and especially in the eyes of our teenagers, comes with its pitfalls.

the commission acting in the sexual and reproductive health including the STHE of the AHEM finds it necessary that there is progress in the sexual education of our young people in Haiti and commits to work in this direction.this is how the commission’s committee aims to educate and educate young people about sexually transmitted diseases and about family planning.

For the realization of this project, the members of AHEM, the parent association, will be at the disposal of SCORA. the project is aimed primarily at students of new secondary I, II, III and IV of about ten schools in the metropolitan area.

Problem statement:

Haiti is one of the poorest countries in the world and the poorest in America. 45% of women aged 15-19 have reached the primary level of education (EMMUS V, p25). Access to information is limited, 24% of women are not exposed to any media (EMMUS V, p39).14% of adolescent girls, women between the ages of 15 and 19, have one child (EMMUS V p81). with unmet contraceptive needs in 57% of women aged 15-19, (EMMUS V p105) it is necessary to make an effort in this direction.

OBJECTIVES:

KEY: Raise awareness and educate youth about STDs and Family Planning.

SECONDARY: Teach teenagers to know their body and how it works.

Expected results:

That teenagers are edified.

That they know better the STDs and how to protect themselves against them.

They know how to protect. themselves against premature (unintended) pregnancies.

They learn to plan their family lives.

MEASURING INDICATORS:

Testimonials of the participants.

Test the knowledge acquired by adolescents.

Reduction of the prevalence of STDs.

Reduction of the rate of early pregnancies.

Methodology:

Organize a series of trainings for teenagers from 10 schools in the metropolitan area.

.Today’s young people, adults of tomorrow, these trainings will allow beneficiaries to not only learn what are STDs and WRITS NOT DESIRED, but also how to prevent them today and in the future.

about ten schools in the metropolitan area and will extend over a period of one week.

The sessions will be held in classrooms for one hour, with two schools per day. The goal is to reach out to as many young school kids as possible and to urge them to share the knowledge they learned during the training sessions with their parents and friends.

Plans for evaluation:

we did a pre-evaluation before the beginning of the sessions to know what the beneficiaries know about the subject.

After each session we do a little test to know the knowledge acquired by them.
