General description:
In our country, people are not aware about the great risk posed by diabetes, this is why we decided to take action and work about it, we did a screening day for diabetes in a local place, along with raising awareness of people and educating the on prevention ad keeping a healthy lifestyle.

Problem statement:
Diabetes is a major public health issue that is neglected by people here in Mali the general population is not aware of its risk factors and its dangerous consequences.
Target groups and beneficiaries:
the target groupe was the general population that were present the day of the action
Objectives and indicators of success:
increase knowledge of the population present on Diabetes
Raise their awareness about risk factors and importance to avoid them
Spot new cases of people affected to diabetes.
Help those people who are newly diagnosed
Methodology:
It was a screening campaign consisting of the checking of the blood sugar, human body parameters measurements; all on an individual chart. The all is crowned by a counselling section based on the diabetes.
– Sensitizing the target population on the prevention of the diabetes(information relayed on radio stations and social medias);
– Screening new cases of diabetes (2 on 123 people);
– Donation of the medicines and insulin syringe.
Plans for evaluation:
calculate the number of people that were screened
calculate the number of people that had positive results
calculate the number of people that we sensitized
ask questions to people we sensitize before and after the sensitizing.
