General description:

A 3 month long programme and wth weekly goals for each mentor-mentee pair. 3rd semester students are appointed as mentors and 1st semester students as mentees to help the mentees with studies and any other problem/stress they’re facing in the medical college.The LOMEs are appointed as Nodal Officers to closely observe and guide the mentor-mentee pairs.

Building the senior-junior relationship among the medical students by appointing them as mentors and mentees

Problem statement:

Most of the medical students in our country face problems when they switch from the school environment to that of a college and are clueless about how to actually survive in such an environment. The first year in our medical system is considered one of the toughest and so to help the new medical students de-stress and unload the worries, we created this program and appointed 2nd year medical students – mentors to 1st year medical students – the mentees.

Methodology:

For implementing this activity, we created a 3 month long programme and gave weekly goals to each mentor-mentee pair. 3rd semester students are appointed as mentors and 1st semester students as mentees to help the mentees with studies and any other problem/stress they’re facing in the medical college. They are also made to sign an undertaking to comply with the anti-ragging rules made by Universities. The LOMEs were appointed as Nodal Officers to closely observe and guide the mentor-mentee pairs.

Plans for evaluation:

Through a Pre-Programme questionnaire, questionnaire at the end of 1st month, questionnaire at the end of 2nd month and post-programme questionnaire for both mentor and mentee
