General description:
Remember Us is an awareness event designed to share information about Alziehmers and Dementia. The target population includes the elderly population (50-80 year olds)
The audience learns about Alzeihmers, its signs and symptoms, and the importance of preventive practices. Using the presentation provided we discussed symptoms, risk factors and treatment options. This is followed by a Dementia Analysis. Later , an Interactive session is conducted where they feel connected to them and celebrate their contribution to society by activities of their choice ( singing/sharing old stories/debating /teaching them some new technology/helping them out )

Problem statement:
Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a growing public health problem among the elderly in developing countries.
It is estimated that by the year 2020, approximately 70% of the world’s population aged 60 and above will be living in developing countries, with 14.2% in India.
India houses more than 4 million people suffering from some form of dementia. Alzheimer’s being the most common condition out of all of them affect around 1.6 million. Alarmingly, this number is set to triple by 2050!

Objectives and indicators of success:
To make at least 500 people above the age of 50, aware of the basic symptoms of alzheimers and dementia with the help of a 60 minute powerpoint presentation delivered by a MSAI volunteer.
To share information about early signs of alzheimers
Discuss the warning signs of alzheimers and how it differs from typical age-related changes
Conduct a dementia analysis with the help of the provided questionnaires
Have an interactive activity with them to feel connected and celebrate their contribution towards society.
Indicators of success:-
More than 50% of target population have understood what alzheimers is
More than 50% of target population can identify 3 symptoms
More than 50% can state 4 measures to reduce risk

AWARENESS EVENT
Step 1
awareness session
Use the presentation provided and have an awareness session on Alzheimers. Discuss symptoms, risk factors and treatment options.
Dementia Analysis
Two sets of questionnaires will be provided which will assess dementia scores.

Feel connected to them and celebrate their contribution to society by activities of your choice
( singing/sharing old stories/debating /teaching them some new technology/helping them out )
Plans for evaluation:
Monitoring :- We keep on tracking progress with the indicators and we keep on checking with the SMART objective. We can change or add intervention in the plan of action/ methodology.
Evaluation : pre and post event reports and post event dementia analysis survey
