General description:

As I said before, in our methodology, we had four section in our activity and their subjects were
1)Writing mail and giving feedback
2)Child marriages
3)Child labour
4)Children’s mental health and child development

In these sessions, our IFMSA trainers prepared trianing on the mentioned topics.

Every session took time about one and half hour. We had thirty five participants and all of them were medical students.

Problem statement:

According to Convention on the Rights of the Child, everyone under the age of 18 is a child. Children around the world, have same rights but they are not equal situations in all countries. In our activity, we purpose that take attention this inequality situations, especially child workers and child marriages.
Child labour, is one of the most important problems in the world. It affects children’s mental, physical, psychological and social development adversely. Childrens usually are not able to go to school or are not able to continue their education. Therefore, they are not qualified enough in their career.
Children who under hard circumstances and long hours affects their mental and physcial health negatively. Therefore, children become indigent of support and aid instead of productive individuals in the long term.
It is not possible to say how many child is a worker around the world, but according to ILO’s (International Labour Organization) 2000-2012 statement, there are 264 million children that are in between five and seventeen ages, work and 168 million children can be thought ‘child workers’. In child workers, 85 million child works in dangerous jobs.
Also, according to TUİK’s survey result, in Turkey there are 890 thousand child worker in 2012 and their employ rate is %5.9.
Child marriages’ is identified “marriages that not enough for physical, physiological and psychological situations and not ready for responsibility of marriage and have child” by UNICEF in 2007.
Child marriage cause of die to mothers and babies or to be mother in early ages makes children vulnerable and unprotected.
In the other way, in Turkey one of each 7 women marriage in child ages, by 2014’s data.

Objectives and indicators of success:

I can explain the our objectives like our purposes;
-Increase the level of knowledge about writing mail and giving feedback
-Talk about the child exploitation and take attention this subject
-Ensure that child marriage is more understandable for medical students
-Discuss the impact of child labour health on examples
-Raise awareness for medical students


Our activity was a peer education in our region. In activity we had four section and their subjects were;

4)Children’s mental health and child development
In the end of the acitivity we had an online feedback form and we wanted to our participants to fill this online form. At the same time, every trainer had their feedbacks end of their educations.

Plans for evaluation:

After the activity- we had an online feedback form. And we want our participants to fill this online form. Also, we had a feedback sheets during the sessions. And in the last session, we discussed and evaluated our activity.
