General description:

In order to further expand the popularization of AIDS knowledge and enhance the awareness of AIDS prevention of migrant workers, we choose to hold an activity on world AIDS day, hoping that the red ribbon health package will be distributed in combination with lectures to help migrant workers understand AIDS and enhance their awareness of prevention. The opinion collection and questionnaire feedback in the later stage of the activity also prove that we have basically reached the goal of the activity.

Focus area:

Raising awareness among the general public about STIs

Problem statement:

Although the popularity of AIDS knowledge in China has greatly increased in recent years, the high prevalence rate and mortality rate indicate that AIDS-related knowledge has not achieved the expected widespread effect, which also makes people more afraid of AIDS.We carried out the red ribbon health package project with the help of China Red Ribbon Foundation, and cooperated with them to popularize the AIDS prevention work to the older migrant workers in the school.

Target groups:

migrant workers in reception service center, operation service center and repair service center of Wuhan university

Beneficiaries:

migrant workers in reception service center, operation service center and repair service center of Wuhan university

Objectives and indicators of success:

Objective:

1. To make participants more aware of AIDS

2. Eliminate participants’ fear and prejudice towards people living with HIV

Successful results:

1. The total number of active readers reached 800

2. All the red ribbon health kits applied to China red ribbon foundation were sent out

After the opening, the preachers will give lectures. After the presentation, the staff issued health kits for migrant workers and asked them to fill out a second knowledge questionnaire. After the event, we released the activity review tweet, and analyzed the change of the knowledge level of the migrant workers by comparing the two questionnaires. Finally, we will sort out the questionnaire information and submit it to the Red Ribbon Foundation.

Plans for evaluation:

Evaluate the effectiveness of the lecture by comparing the accuracy of the first and second questionnaires
