Problem statement:
Stigma, fear and lack of information about mental health problems have been identified as reasons why mental health and mental illness have not been adequately addressed in many schools. Mental Health materials and Middle Education have been developed to help overcome some of these barriers. The Guide can help faculty convey crucial information in a way that engages and Challenge young people, you will need accurate information that has been reviewed by health experts.

Objectives:
- Provide students with a basic introduction to normal brain function
to help them better understand mental health and mental illness;
- Help students understand the various factors that can contribute to
mental illnesses, and the biological component that makes mental illnesses
are so different from other diseases;
- Equip teens with the knowledge they need to identify when they, a
friend or relative is experiencing mental health problems or mental illness;
- Reduce the stigma associated with mental illness by providing clear information and
objective information about these mental illnesses, their causes, ways to deal with them and their

- Help young people understand that seeking help for mental health problems is
very important, and suggest strategies for such help seeking;
- Reinforce the importance of positive mental health and effective ways to deal with stress;
