General description:
The PERICARDIUM activity is an activity held as a form of MSCIA’s concern for the world of health in Indonesia. PERICARDIUM is an activity aimed at increasing students’ knowledge of cardiovascular disease, as well as helping broad non-FK students know how to deal with this disease, and at the same time providing a forum for FKUB students to contribute directly by showing their concern for cardiovascular sufferers through the provision of counseling activities and CPR simulation.
Focus area:
Cardiovascular Disease
Problem statement:
The increasing number of people with cardiovascular disease in Indonesia in the past year has led Indonesia to be ranked fourth in the world regarding the number of people with Cardiovascular disease. These facts make us, DOME (Department of Medical Education) of MSCIA (Medical Students’ Committee for International Affairs) moved to give our contribution to help overcome cardiovascular disease in Indonesia, as a manifestation of our concern for the quality of the world of Indonesian health.
Target groups:
General population, Medical students, Healthcare Students, Other Students, Youth
Beneficiaries:
General population, Medical students, Healthcare Students, Other Students, Youth
Objectives and indicators of success:
OBJECTIVES :
1. Increase knowledge about first aid in cardiac arrest by giving simulation of CPR after the seminar
2. Increase public awareness of cardiovascular disease by giving a lecture about Cardiovascular in the seminar
3. Doing primary prevention for people who are at risk or not
SUCCESS INDICATORS :
1. The number of participants attending d-day is 100 people. Can be seen from the attendance list / attendance on the day H
2. Increased the value of the pre test to post test by 30% d-day. Can be calculated from the% increase in pre test to post test
Methodology:
We give the participants firstly a lecture about cardiovascular in general and the dissease. We provide them a video simulation how to do a CPR. In the end of the seminar the participants try CPR by themselves and monitored by a doctor.
Plans for evaluation:
Our activity is monitored by the pre test and post test score. Surprisingly, their knowledge increase rapidly only in a day. The evaluation of PERICARDIUM’s activities so far has gone well, all the indicators that have been set have been reached. What needs to be improved for the coming year is the timeliness of meetings and preparation for activities not too tight. Because indeed the tight schedule of lectures and the schedule of activities at the FKUB collegiate, for the preparation of PERICARDIUM this seems to be often tight.
