General description:
Every medical school should look forward to being accreditation. Accreditation of all medical schools in Cameron will help increase globalization of medicine, have a cross border education provider, have a systematic evaluation to assure accountability and meeting the requirements of external standards. The primary aim of carrying out this activity is to raise students’ awareness on the accreditation status of each school and how they can go about step-by-step for their school to be accredited.
Problem statement:
A majority of the Cameroon medical schools in Cameroon offer authentic medical education as recommended by the harmonised national program but unfortunately, most of these schools are not accredited and at the end of their studies, they face the challenges of:
– enrolment into foreign institutions especially in developed countries for further studies
– employment in developed countries from non-recognition of their certificates

Objectives:
- To ensure that by the end of the month April, after 3 hours of sessions at least 30 medical students nationwide are well-oriented and knowledgeable about accreditation
- Increasing motivation levels of 30 medical students nationwide in order to advocate for AQA in their universities
- To ensure that by the end of the month of June after a minimum of 3 hours of working sessions at least 3 medical schools nationwide are starting their accreditation process.
Indicators of Success:
- Over 20 medical students report a better understanding on accreditation when comparing the pre and post assessment tests
- Student representatives from at least 4 faculties/schools advocate for accreditation of their medical schools.
- For at least 2 medical students in different faculties nationwide to report their faculty have started the accreditation process
Methodology:
- Draft an activity description plan
- Contact the SCOME IT for collaboration
- Invite the different speakers
- Draft the pre and post evaluation forms
- Set an online and local calls to register
Time Frame:
– Introduction, welcoming and Team Building
– Topic 1: presentation: Accreditation, quality assurance, its Importance and directives on how Cameroon should start the process (by SCOME IT)

Plans for evaluation:
Evaluation to assessed knowledge on participants on the AQA using questions to evaluate thier understand before and after the webinar using Pre and Post Assessment forms.
