General description:
The Awareness campaign took place in the assembly Hall of the International University of Kyrgyzstan-International School of Medicine situated on the 7th April street 6, Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. The targeted audience was medical students, teachers of the faculty and the Local administrative staff. Presentations were explained regarding the disease, how to follow preventive methods & cure. At the end informative flyers were handed out to everyone present for more detailed clarification of disease.
Problem statement:
The Problem HIV/AIDS affects both the male & female population. According to statistics, as of 01/10/2020, approximately 10,173 cases of HIV infection were registered. At least 63.6 percent of HIV-positive people are men, women — 36.4 percent. The problem occurs when it is left undetected/untreated. The idea of NGOs and support groups for PLHIV was not introduced causing people to not seek help when needed. HIV/AIDS is a stigma among the people.

Objectives:
- To educate approximately 95% of medical students and staff of the ISM-IUK about HIV/AIDS.
- To encourage 100% of the target audience to help eradicate the taboo of talking about sexually transmitted diseases by 1st of December 2022.
- To increase support for the proportion of people living with HIV/AIDS in the year 2022.
- To aware 90% of the medical students about the complications people living with HIV/AIDS face in their daily lives & the vital role students can play in its eradication.
Indicators of Success:
- 98% of medical students and staff of the ISM-IUK got aware about HIV/AIDS.
- 100% audience vowed to talk it out loud in the public.
- 100% audience agreed to share information to others via social media platforms and show unity & support.
- All of the medical students from the audience had a positive mindset and attitude to always help people living with HIV/AIDS and how can they be more supportive towards it.
Methodology:
The event focused on spreading information, knowledge, awareness and necessary education regarding AIDs among each and every person out there. Infectious department was involved and a presentation was explained by professor Doctor. Aidar Alymkulov. The theme of the event was awareness. There was no semester restriction. An open invite was sent. Presence of administrative and local staff was made sure. An open invite was sent to all the TOs and LMOs of AMSA KG. 3 Presentations were presented by the students that covered the Basics, Pathogenesis, Treatment, Statistics, Epidemiology and Preventive methods of the disease. On the day of the event, Red Ribbons and informative flyers(bilingual) were distributed among everyone present at the venue.
Plans for evaluation:
Before the event, interaction was done with 30% of the audience via vocal questionnaire to access information among them regarding the HIV/AIDS, its preventative methods and cure.
Post event, interaction was done with 90% of the audience via vocal questionnaire to access information among them regarding the HIV/AIDS, its preventative methods and cure.
100% positive response was received from the audience including the faculty members concerning the quality of the campaign.
