Problem statement:
Raise awareness regarding the medical, psychological and social side effects of FGM and familiarization of the audience about the legal outcomes of the act.

Objectives:
Our objective was to raise awareness regarding the medical, psychological and social side effects of FGM and familiarization of the audience about the legal outcomes of the act.
Indicators of Success:
We got an overall good feedback from the public as well as from the IFMSA-Kurdistan members who were working with us.
Methodology:
We conducted a seminar regarding the medical, psychological and social adverse effects of FGM as well as the legal outcomes in Kurdistan region to an audience of women recruited from areas prone to the practice of FGM. We also offered free mammography, in collabortion with Maryamana hospital, for women above 40 years old. Later on we were invited to a Radio interview by Helin Media on the same project. There was TV broadcasting channel (kurdistan TV) who made a report about the project and the leader of the project (Tnok Tahir) gave a short interview on the day, project and importance of such activities that was included in the TV report. A small coffee break was also organized that included refreshments such as sweets, tea and coffee.
