We are going to organize such events once in a month. For example October – World Day against Breast Сancer, November – Antibiotic Resistance, December – First Aid.
Methodology:
1) Choosing the place. Usually it’s anti-café where students can focus on topic and feel relaxed.
2) Looking for the specialist. It’s should be a person who knows everything about chosen topic in order to teach others and be able to answer all the questions.
3) Organization of the interactive part. According to the theme of the event members of the local committees organize different activities. There can be quizzes, intellectual games, simulation trainings, chemical experiments and etc. All of this helps to keep in memory the main aspects of the subject.
4) Advertisement. It’s very necessary to promote the event and to point every activity.
5) Audience gathering.
Plans for evaluation:
The lectures are going to be held regularly, once a month during the whole term of studying. Attendance of, at least, 25 students at each lecture. Evaluation and control to verify what students have learnt during the lecture by interactive quiz at the end of the event. Receiving feedbacks from both attendants and a speaker. Immediate impact is an access to modern educational information, an acquisition of knowledge and training practical skills. Long-term impact is improving the effectiveness of a studying process, raising motivation and professionalism, thus students will realize the need for a lifelong learning.
