IFMSA at 24th European Congress of Psychiatry

On the 13th of March, IFMSA had the pleasure to be present at the 24th European Congress of Psychiatry, organized by the European Psychiatry Association (EPA).
The Congress was held in Madrid, from 12th to 15th of March, being one of the most relevant events on Psychiatry in the World.
IFMSA Regional Director for Europe had the honor to do a presentation about Youth Leadership in Mental Health: view from EFPT and IFMSA, in collaboration with the European (EFPT) in the Symposium: “Engaging Students with Psychiatry: Why, How, and Where”.
During the presentation we highlighted not only the importance of mental health, the advantages and achievements of this partnership, but mainly focused on what is IFMSA doing concretely to tackle this issue.
For that, we would like to endorse and thank the work being done in all corners of the world by our National Member Organizations (NMOs) and by the IFMSA Program on Mental Health. We showcased some of these projects which received a very good feedback from the audience:
- Burnout Buddy (Portugal)
- Academy of the Mind (Australia)
- In Reflection (Slovenia)
- #KeepsMeWell (Canada)
- Humans Of Medicine (Australia)
- Mental (The Netherlands)
This meeting was also a good opportunity to meet some of the most known experts on Mental Health in the World and to contact with the European and World Psychiatric Associations, EPA and WPA, respectively.
IFSMA will now keep up with the collaboration with EFPT and contact with EPA and WPA, in an effort to increase the spotlight on mental health and also to provide materials and capacity building opportunity to our members.
