Type of the activity: Campaign
General description:
It’s all about advocacy for the SDGs ” esp Goal 3 & 6″ and helping to provide clean water or at least warn people from the dangers of unclean water. We started working on this issue by making a team of Local Coordinators allover IFMSA-Egypt and each coordinator has the responsibility to meet our goals and objectives in their LCs.
The main step of this project is the convoy launched in different villages around Egypt to raise awareness and try to help them get safer water supply.
Focus area:
Water Sanitation
Problem statement:
In Egypt, there are lots of villages which don’t have a safe and clean source of water; and even if it exists, it isn’t enough for all the inhabitants. Consequently, those villages’ inhabitants suffer from many complications of unclean water supply.
In addition, we’ve noticed that many Egyptians don’t give appropriate care to their health and well-being, although being healthy should be a priority for everybody.
From those two facts, we’ve decided to work on the 3rd and 6th goals from the SDGs to promote for the importance of water sanitation and being healthy as a priority.
