General description:
GAP Exchange has the objectives to increase awareness, knowledge, and behavior of triple burden diseases within the community. Since unfortunately, those diseases’ dreadful impact on Indonesia is continuing. For instance, diabetes has high prevalence of 6.7%, ascariasis has 90 million risks, and tuberculosis 842000 incidence.
GAP eventually will advance prevention and treatment methodologies, thus reducing the prevalence and incidence rate of said diseases.
In realizing that notion, SCORE CIMSA has joined hands with some organizations may it be governmental or non-governmental, healthcare office, united nation agencies, educational institution, and student organizations.
For instance, UNAND with the stunting theme, collaborate with healthcare facilities, namely: Puskesmas Jati, Delima 5 Jatiwarang, and Pasaman. Likewise, UB with tuberculosis theme joined along Saiful Anwar Hospital and its KPRS team.

Problem statement:
As a triple-burden country, Indonesia has high quantity and variety of endemic diseases; which consist NTDs, NCDs, and re-emerging diseases.
Unfortunately, those diseases’ dreadful impact on Indonesia is continuing. For instance, diabetes has high prevalence of 6.7%, ascariasis has 90 million risks, and tuberculosis 842000 incidence.
Chiefly, for developing Indonesian research and triple-burden diseases’ awareness, NTDs and NCDs are the appropriate endemic theme for GAP Exchange fulfilment.

Objectives and indicators of success:
GAP Exchange is done as a one-month public health exchange period on:
o Facilitating Incomings on public health research and its communal application
o Encouraging learning of skills for endemic diseases prevention, detection, and treatment
o Developing participants soft skills
o Encouraging the creation of social and professional network
o Thinking critically about public health and endemic disease issues
o Raising awareness of Indonesian global triple burden disease
o Promoting correctness of information distribution on NTDs & NCDs
o Implementing the 3rd and 4th SDGs
Success indicator:
o 2 locals to host the GAP Exchange program
o Frequent follow up and monitoring
o Positive correlation of awareness and knowledge
o Valid documentation and publication
Methodology:
GAP are divided into the following three levels:
o Training: The training included on the endemic disease topic are from its definition until prognosis. The training should be around 10% of the exchange duration.
o Fieldwork: GAP also needs to have field and/or community education about the endemic diseases. In average, fieldwork and/or community work should be around 30% of the exchange duration.
o Research: research should be the main activity of this exchange consisting 60% of the exchange duration.
GAP Exchange has a very similar concept with the all familiar research exchange. GAP Exchange is done within the period of 4 (four) weeks with minimal of 6 working hours on weekdays.
The common GAP Exchange timeline are: week 1 (lecture, SWG, & tutorial); week 2 (field and health center survey, lab preparation); week 3 (health center and field visitation, clinical observation, sample collection); week 4 (scientific outcome development); and week 5 (social program).
Plans for evaluation:
GAP Exchange evaluation can be done based on the activity component or any external parties involved. The following is an example of an adequate evaluation:
• CQCP 2.0.: evaluation the activity performance by assessing the activity quality within many aspects including preparation, execution, and post-activity stage.
• Questionnaire: evaluation on the committee performance by using questionnaire filled by each of the committee in essence of assessing each other performance
• Pre-test & Post-test: evaluation on the impact toward the activity target audience by measuring the difference in score before and after
• Feedback questionnaire: evaluation on mainly the external aspects filling questionnaire by all of the involved parties for feedback toward all aspects of the activity
Those will then be compiled and then be used as a discussion material on the evaluation meeting. Points from the evaluation can also be a warning or guidance for the next planned commencement of the activity.
