General description:

Virtual campaign consisting of the publication of flyers and informative posters about Lepra, through the social networks of the local Scientific Societies and FEVESOCEM. Based on the WHO global strategies for Leprosy 2016-2020: Accelerate action towards a world without leprosy.

Problem statement:

Disinformation about the disease in terms of the clinic, mode of transmission, treatment and even evolution of the disease during the history. Medical students and the general public are undereducated in a number of communicable disease topics, including diseases themselves (specifically neglected tropical diseases and emerging diseases), epidemiology, prevention strategies, and treatment.

Objectives and indicators of success:

Objective 1: Improved knowledge and empowered medical and other health related students on topics in communicable diseases

Indicator: Number of educational activities (flyers and posts) on topics of the program initiated in locally, nationally and internationally. Number of satisfied and empowered student participants.

Objective 2: Educated and engaged communities that recognize and take preventive measures on communicable diseases

Indicator: Number of activities that involve communities. Number of beneficiaries in activities. Number of NMOs organizing activities.

Number of views and downloads you have on social networks

Methodology:

• Collection of information regarding Leprosy from reliable sources

• Basing the realization of the Posts based on the 2016-2020 Strategies of the WHO for a World without Leprosy.

• Plasma important data in an infographic, in advertising post, with joint messages on the subject.

• Publish the infographics, the posters on the social networks of each local SOCEM, on the SCOPH Facebook page, and the social networks of FEVESOCEM with the Hastag #WorldWithouthLeprosy #UnMundoSinLepra #WorldLeprosyDay #Hansenday #ConvitVaccine

Plans for evaluation:

• Weekly display of posts of posts in each social network of the local SOCEM, as well as their publication on the SCOPH Facebook page, and FEVESOCEM’s Instagram account.

• As well as the number of times the following Hashtag was used #WorldWithouthLeprosy #UnMundoSinLepra #WorldLeprosyDay #Hansenday #ConvitVaccine
