Donate More! – Sweden (IFMSA-Sweden)
Name of the activity: Donate More!
Country/NMO: Sweden (IFMSA-Sweden)
Program: Organ, Marrow & Tissue Donation
Contact information: [email protected]
Type of the activity: Campaign
Focus area:
Organ donation, Blood donation, Marrow donation
Problem statement:
In Sweden both organ, bone marrow and blood donation is optional. The biggest problem is that too few know that you can donate your organs post mortem, that bone marrow donation exist and that Sweden needs more blood donators. Information is needed!
Target groups and beneficiaries:
We address medical students but everyone who needs an organ, bloodmarrow or blood will benefit.
Objectives and indicators of success:
– To arrange lectures on different mental health issues that reaches 300 medical students this year.
Methodology:
We will have a lecture during lunchtime for primarily the new medical students each semester. During the lecture we will talk about why, how and when one can donate and help them book appointments at the blood station.
Plans for evaluation:
We will count how many students attend the lecture, how many of them were donators before starting medical school and how many who have the intention to become donators after the lecture.
