General description:
As future doctors, some of us are still unsure what they what to specialize in. This is mostly because of a lack of information. By organizing a speed date session during which students can ask ALL their questions to professionals in the field, we hope to offer them the possibility to get a better insight.
This way we hope to make their eventual choice better thought-out with less doubts and stress…
Focus area:
Better insights of different specialities
Problem statement:
As future doctors, some of us are still unsure what they what to specialize in. This is mostly because of a lack of information. This causes a lot of stress, doubts and maybe less good choices.
Target groups:
Medical students
Beneficiaries:
General population, Medical students, Doctors
Objectives and indicators of success:
Allow medical students to ask all their questions to the specialists/doctors they want.-> Questionnaires for both parties afterwards
Increase the quality of their ultimate choice. –> hard to assess on such a short time
Create a new generation of doctors that are better satisfied with their choice/specialty. –> hard to assess on such a short time
Methodology:
Invite 30-50 doctors for every 90-150 students, of all kinds of disciplines.
Make sure the students can subscribe to start with the doctor they surely want to meet.
Then start a rotation: every speed date (3 students at one table with one doctor) lasts 7 minutes. Then the students move to the next table (doctor).
One hour of speed dates.
Then a reception where they can elaborate/meet other doctors
Plans for evaluation:
2 google forms: one for the students, the other one for the doctors attending.
