We are excited to announce the opening of the call for applications to form the IFMSA delegation for the 69th Session of the Commission on the Status of Women (CSW69). This high-level event will occur from March 10 to 21, 2025, at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, USA. The deadline for applications is November 10, 2024, at 23:59 GMT.
About the Commission on the Status of Women
The Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) is the principal global body that promotes gender equality and women’s empowerment. The 69th session of CSW will focus on reviewing the implementation of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action as it marks its 30th anniversary in 2025. Member States and organizations will discuss progress, gaps, and actions to accelerate women’s rights, political participation, and social and economic empowerment.
About the IFMSA Delegation
The IFMSA delegation, led by the Liaison Officer for Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (LRA), will consist of 18 medical students committed to representing 1.5 million members of IFMSA worldwide. The delegation will have the opportunity to:
- Deliver statements on gender equality and women’s empowerment.
- Participate in side events and network with relevant stakeholders.
- Showcase the work of IFMSA on social media.
- Contribute to advocacy publications and policy briefs.
- Support logistical and organizational tasks for the delegation.
Selection Criteria
Applicants will be evaluated based on their:
- Motivation for participation.
- Experience in gender equality and women’s rights.
- Prior involvement in IFMSA external affairs and policy work.
- Commitment to contributing to follow-up plans and future delegations.
- Gender and regional representation will be considered.
Information Session
An information session will be held on October 30, 2024, at 16:00 GMT via Zoom, where the Head of Delegation and past attendees will share insights and answer questions. The session will be recorded and made available for later viewing.

How to Apply
1. Prepare your application: Fill out the online Application Form.
2. Submit your Candidature Form: Ensure it is signed and stamped by your NMO President.
3. Proof of Enrollment: Provide proof of your status as a medical student or recent graduate (within the last 6 months).
Submit both forms by November 10, 2024, at 23:59 GMT. Late applications will not be accepted.
