General description:
With the current loss of the union between psychiatry and psychotherapy, which existed at the beginning of the emergence of this science, there is a need for them to be complementary again, so doctors and medical students need to understand the human psyche, the factors that influence it and how psychotherapy acts so that when they attend a psychiatric patient, they perform a mixed approach of the biological, psychological, pathological, social, spiritual and psychopharmacological fields. It is hoped that with the realization of this project, there will be a reduction of psychiatric disorders and psychiatric disorders in the medical student due to the self-reflection that the understanding of human thought will provide from that course, in addition, to provide a broader view regarding the patients who will be assisted in future by these professionals, regardless of the area chosen for the performance, and that, with due preparation, will provide a higher aid than he would have if he had learned only the basics about psychiatry / psychology.

Problem statement:

Objectives and indicators of success:
– Demonstrate the science of applied psychoanalysis in the day-to-day medical psychiatrist;
– Improve understanding of psychiatric disorders and how they affect the patient’s daily life through behavior;
– To understand the mechanisms used by psychoanalysts for the treatment of mental disorders in order to improve the connection between psychiatric and psychological therapy;
– Optimize understanding of how psychiatric disorders affect patients’ behavior and can affect their personal lives;
Self-knowledge in order to improve the psychological structure of the medical student, avoiding problems such as depression and suicide;
Methodology:
There will be expository meetings on pre-selected themes by the lecturers and psychologists, focusing on several themes, initially we will approach the beginning of psychoanalysis and psychiatry as complementary sciences, studying the Freudian theories, basing the psychoanalysis and later deepening in the daily application of this science.
The meetings will be weekly with duration of 02 hours in average, the themes will be selected from the basic bibliography and natural progression of the students knowledge. In all the meetings there will be surprises to capture the attention of those present and to provide a more warm and personal environment, breaking the impersonality and distance from commonly taught theoretical classes, such as use of ambient music, aromas, colors, food, costumes among other devices for the purpose mentioned above.
There will be discussions on selected bibliographies, with updates from post Freud psychoanalysis, studying the most recent theories with applicability in psychiatry.
As the meetings are going on and the difficulties and needs of the students present are presented, we will address other branches of psychoanalysis and psychiatry, such as psychopathology, existentialism, forensic psychiatry, child psychology, among other branches.
Plans for evaluation:
After each meeting there will be sent an on-line form which contains questions about that day’s theme; the questions will be divided between the subjective and objective types. All the participant’s answers will be registered and evaluated by the psycologists professionals, after the correction, a feedback will be sent to the students so they evaluate their needs.
