Problem statement:
Indigenous Brazilian people suffer various kinds of violence. In 2020, the number of indigenous murders increased by 61%. Moreover, they are constantly threatened by the government that supports large farmers, through the Time Limit Tric, which endangers the right to indigenous land. Also, this minority struggles to access other basic rights, such as quality food and health. Indigenous agendas must be part of the fight of the entire society, including ours, as medical students.

Objectives:
Debate actively about the social determination of the health-disease process related to indigenous people
– At least 200 students registered and 80 are present during the broadcast.
– At least 1 participation of the audience in each space
Discuss racism and ethnophobia in open spaces and a workshop about a clinical case on indigenous health
-At least 20 students are present on the workshop
-At least 10 students actively participating in the workshop
Encourage the reflection on the importance of the right to land and food sovereignty
-At least 50 students are present during this space
-At least 20 applicants to coordination assistant
Involve other perspectives in the OC to comprehend the indigenous fights in an integrated approach.
-At least 3 different DENEM-Brazil national coordinations on the OC.

-At least 80% of the speakers are indigenous.
Indicators of Success:
-At least 200 students registered for the conference and at least 80 present during the broadcast.
-At least 1 question from the audience in each discussion space.
-At least 20 students present on the workshop day.
-At least 10 students actively participating in the workshop space with questions and comments.
-At least 50 students present during this space in the conference.
At least 20 applicants to coordination assistant, add this subject to their motivation letter.
-At least 3 different national coordinations on the organizing committee.

Methodology:
Planning phase:
– Identify the main challenges of the indigenous population
-Invite national coordinators to the OC
– At least 2 OLM of the OC to organize the conference schedule and invite speakers, the majority indigenous.
– Share the project on social media and open the registration form.
The Conference:
– Lectures (April 15th, April 22nd, April 27th):
– Platform: StreamYard and broadcasted on YouTube
-Participation from the audience through the chatbox and Google forms
-Presentation: 20 min for each speaker, and each theme had 2 or 3 speakers. Themes: the historical struggle of indigenous people; ethnophobia in medical education and policies for promoting equity in health
– Round table: open for questions and comments by the audience.
Workshop – Clinical Case of Indigenous Health.
— Platform: Zoom
– Introduction of the supposed patient. In each stage of medical care, the speaker asks the audience what should be done, listen to them, and say the correct conduct.
Plans for evaluation:
We evaluated the impact through:
– Instagram metrics: the event was widely publicized on Instagram through DENEM-Brazil’s national (more than twenty-six thousand followers) social media. We were able to evaluate the number of people reached through the number of likes, comments, impressions, and achieved accounts in the post and stories.
-Google Forms for subscription: we conducted a survey about basic information of the medical student
-Google Forms for participation: space for highlighting the positive and negative aspects of the activity, sending questions and comments.
-Engagement of the OC: amount of national coordinations involved in the activity and a final OLM to evaluate the activity.
