Problem statement:
Environment and climate change has been identified as a fundamental threat to global health security, as well as a threat to meeting and maintaining international development goals. Between 2030 and 2050, climate change is expected to cause approximately 250000 additional deaths per year, from malnutrition, malaria, diarrhoea and heat stress alone. The direct damage costs to health is estimated to be between USD 2-4 billion per year by 2030.

Objectives:
All the objectives target 25 medical students through a 14 hour workshop using informative and interactive sessions-
-To introduce the basic concepts of public health
-about the concept of climate change and its underlying causes
-about the consequences of climate change on natural systems, food production systems, economy, poverty, and the adverse effects of climate change on human health
-To train with leadership skills specific to public health and communication
-teach the steps of project design
-dividing them into small working groups and facilitating them devise activities to tackle climate change followed by team presentations.
-about the various health co-benefits of addressing climate change
-about response to climate change and the importance of building climate resilient health systems
-To introduce the concepts of advocacy, the importance of climate change advocacy and the roles of different population groups in climate change advocacy
-To educate about stakeholder analysis and on how to approach and engage with stakeholders using “”elevator pitch”” activity sessions.
-To conduct a UNFCCC COP simulation to help them apply the knowledge assimilated in the sessions

-More than 60% of participants know the basics of public health, environment health and planetary health
-More than 60% of participants know the important causes of climate change
-More than 60% of participants know the consequences of climate change on human health
-More than 60% of participants know basics of communication and leadership
-More than 60% of participants know the steps of activity management
-More than 60% of participants know know how to work in a group and promote team building
-More than 60% of participants know the various health co-benefits of addressing climate change
-More than 60% of participants know the importance of building climate resilient health systems
-More than 60% of participants know the basics of the concept of advocacy
-More than 60% of participants know how to do stakeholders analysis, and how to approach the stakeholders using elevator pitch
-More than 60% of participants understood the role of relevant stakeholders in tackling climate change, through the simulation.
Methodology:
Pre-workshop-
Creating all the required resources like PowerPoint presentation and flipcharts and design activity sessions for all the topics.
Share necessary information by forming a WhatsApp group with all the registered participants
Create and share a Pre – Workshop Google form to assess the basic knowledge of the participants and also compare with the Post – Workshop Google form to evaluate the outcome.
