Dear IFMSA members and Global Health & External Affairs enthusiasts worldwide,
It’s with great pleasure that we open the call for the IFMSA Delegation to the World Health Summit (WHS) 2025 – a delegation that has become a valued tradition within our Federation.
The World Health Summit is a unique international strategic forum for global health. Held annually in Berlin, it brings together stakeholders from politics, science, the private sector, and civil society from around the world to set the agenda for a healthier future by inspiring innovative solutions for better health and well-being for all.
The upcoming edition will take place from October 12 – 14, 2025, in Berlin, Germany, under the timely and powerful theme “Taking Responsibility for Health in a Fragmenting World.”
Furthermore, this theme is reflected in the key thematic pillars that will shape the agenda and discussions at WHS 2025:
Reducing the Burden of NCDs: Prevention, Collaboration, and Care
Artificial Intelligence: From Data to Decisions for Global Health Systems
Transforming Global Health Architecture: Rethinking Governance and Financing Models
Peace and Health: Building Bridges for Global Stability and Well-being
Climate in Crisis, Health at Risk: Equitable Strategies for a Resilient World
Women’s and Children’s Health: Transforming Policy into Practice
Participation as IFMSA Delegates
IFMSA’s participation in the World Health Summit 2025 aims to:
Attend and engage in the capacity building program and delegation activities before the event;
Support the VPE 25/26 in logistical preparations (e.g., accommodation, social activities);
Create advocacy plans, policy briefs, and other publications to be shared during and after the meeting;
Attend sessions and actively engage where IFMSA is involved;
Represent the voice of 1.5 million medical students worldwide in key global health discussions;
Network with external partners relevant to IFMSA’s work;
Ensure IFMSA’s visibility on social media throughout the event;
Participate in reflection sessions, attend relevant events, and contribute to the internal and external follow-up.
IFMSA delegates are expected to:
Be available for the full duration of the event;
Contribute to agreed-upon tasks before, during, and after the meeting;
Collaborate effectively with the team and uphold the delegation’s goals;
Show full commitment to responsibilities, deadlines, and team coordination.
Selection Criteria
All applications will be assessed based on the following:
Only IFMSA members from active NMOs are eligible to apply;
Applicants must be current students or have held student status within six months prior to the event;
Demonstrated understanding of IFMSA’s policy work and external affairs efforts;
Relevant experience in global health, medical education, or medical science (other applicable experiences will also be considered);
Clear motivation for participating in the delegation;
Defined contribution to the delegation and follow-up – refer to the delegation’s objectives above and reflect on your potential role;
Regional, gender, and experience diversity will also be taken into consideration.
The delegation will consist of 20 IFMSA members and will be led by the Vice President for External Affairs 2025/2026.

This call is only for in-person (offline) participation.
The official name of the meeting to be used in the CF is “World Health Summit 2025“
Incomplete or late applications, or those not submitted under the “General Member” category, will not be considered. If you are the NMO President, please ensure the form is signed by another official NMO representative.
