We are thrilled to announce the opening of the call for the Open Education Conference 2025, which will be hybrid from the 28th to the 30th of October 2025!
What is the OpenEd25?
The Open Education Conference is an annual convening for sharing and learning about open educational resources, open pedagogy, and open education initiatives. This engaging event brings together over 1,600 educators and open education advocates in-person and online to collaborate, support, and drive strategies for education that are accessible, affordable, and reflective of the learners they serve. For more than 20 years, the Open Education Conference Community has convened annually—originally in person, then online, and now as an inclusive hybrid event. OpenEd25 will be held on October 28-30, 2025 in Denver, USA and online around the globe. IFMSA Delegates will be attending online. Moreover, the COP serves as a mechanism to assess the impact of parties’ measures in relation to their nationally determined contributions, national communications, and emission inventories.
This year’s conference will take place across three days:
October 28: 2:30pm – 10:30pm GMT
Wednesday, October 29: 1:30pm – 12:00am GMT
Thursday, October 30: 1:30pm – 10:00pm GMT
Each day will feature a keynote session, concurrent live sessions, and access to pre-recorded presentations, lightning talks, and posters that participants can view at their convenience.
IFMSA will form a delegation of 20 members, including the Liaison Officer for Medical Science and Research Issues, to represent our federation at this significant event.
Selected delegates are expected to:
Attend the full duration of the event (all the sessions they are assigned to).
Contribute actively to tasks agreed upon by the delegation before, during, and after the event.
Engage in preparations leading up to the event and participate in follow-up plans according to the agreed timeline.
Work effectively towards the final objectives set for IFMSA during the conference.
Demonstrate commitment to tasks, deadlines, and collaboration with fellow delegation members.
Selection Criteria
All applications will be evaluated based on the following:
Only students, or those who have the student status within six months before the meeting, are eligible to apply;
Only IFMSA members from active NMOs are eligible to apply;
Experience in the topic of the meeting (Open Science and Open Education).
Motivation for participation;
Understanding of IFMSA policy work and IFMSA’s external affairs efforts;
Contribution to the delegation and follow-up plans.
Regional and gender representation will be taken into account.

The official name of the meeting to be used in the CF is: Open Education Conference 2025
In the case the applicant is the NMO President, the Candidature Form needs to be signed by another NMO Representative.
The Application Form with Candidature Form needs to be submitted before the 18th of September 2025, 23:59 GMT.
The application will be considered invalid if one document is missing or the submission is late.
