General description:

Ministry of Health explained that the ratio of specialist doctors was 12.6 per 100,000 population (as of December 31, 2015) had reached the target of health personnel development plan for 2011-2025, which was 12.2 per 100,000 population. However, there is considerable disparity between provinces in Indonesia. The lowest ratio of specialist doctors is in Papua Province with a ratio of 3.0

Therefore, this event was held to help open the views of medical students, young doctors, and the general public about the extent of the spread of doctors in Indonesia in particular and the world at large. In addition, it is hoped that it will also help open our minds about how many areas still require the presence of doctors and also provide understanding to the public that doctors are the profession of service providers who work in and for the community itself. And can introduce more about the organization Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) to medical students.

Problem statement:

There are still many areas in our country with health crises that still need a lot of health workers. Objectives and indicators of success:

Goals:

Gives a view of the urgency of the availability of medical personnel and knowledge of aspects of the human mentality of a doctor for medical students by holding a talk show that lasts 5 hours and is attended by 40 participants.

Objectives:

1. Give a view of the urgency of the availability of medical personnel, especially doctors in the 3T area.

2. Increasing the competence of medical students in the aspect of the humanity of a doctor.

3. Open the public’s insight into the gait of doctors who are not exposed to the media.

Success indicator:

1. Attend by more than 40 participant

2. There was an increase of post test to 70%

Methodology:

This event was held to help open the views of medical students, young doctors, and the general public about the extent of the spread of doctors in Indonesia by conducting grand lecture and talkshow consist 2 doctors and 1 representative from MSF. In addition, we also conducted a social media campaign. It is hoped that it will also help open our minds about how many areas still require the presence of doctors and also provide understanding to the public that doctors are the profession of service providers who work in and for the community itself. And can introduce more about the organization Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) to medical students.

Plans for evaluation:

Based on our indicator of success

1. For the attendance, we measure it by calculate the number of participant that come to the talkshow, and from the data we obtain, we have 86 participants which is twice more than we expected

2. For the post-test, we wasn’t able to conduct it because it will make the talkshow one-way interaction. So the speaker suggested that to measure the understanding of the participants, we can make an observation during question time. And based on our observation, the participants are so enthusiastic that mean they understand the talkshow
