Type of the activity: Capacity Building (Training or Workshop). Teaching and develop knowledge, skills and techniques in a particular field. While training can have any form, workshops are more formal and also include exchange of information between participants.
General description:
On the frame of the workshop were talked the topics: Introduction to SCOPE and Global Health, Training about international exchanges, Global health on the XXI century, Global Health Challenges, identification and approach to global health problems, Social indicators, Global Health & Exchanges, application of strategies to face the global health issues, international institutions’ role.
Improving the abilities of medical students in the topic of global health and health systems. Also, tests were made to prove and standardize the results and outcomes.

Problem statement:
The medical students do not know the importance about global health and all the factors it involves. Only 5 % of a control group knew what was the difference between public health, international health and global health. They also ignore the different strategies we have in our hands to face those problems.

Objectives and indicators of success:
– Explain the differences between public, international and global health
– Identify common problems in global health
– Apply strategies to face and solve those global health problems
– Show the relation between exchanges and global health systems
For all the objectives, the indicators were the difference between the pre vs post-workshop test
Methodology:
On the frame of our Annual GA, SCOPE made the workshop “Are you ready to face the world? Global Health”. Previously, the publicity was made between all the national medical students. The inscriptions for the workshop were opened and the link for the pre-test was sent, having the results of 35 interested people, having an average score of 9 out of 20 in the test.
The workshop then was made. On the frame of the workshop were talked the topics: Introduction to SCOPE and Global Heatlh, Training about international exchanges, Global heatlh on the XXI century, Global Health Challenges, identification and approach to global health problems, Social indicators, Global Health & Exchanges, application of strategies to face the global health issues, international institutions’ role.
After the workshop we applied the post-test, having the average results of 18 out of 20. The test was applied two weeks after to evaluate the perdurability of knowledge and the average result was 16 out of 20.
Plans for evaluation:
