Problem statement:
Even with changes in beauty model, being bald is still considered a taboo for many women and the possibility that this may happen interferes with their lives, especially when it comes to psychological aspects
Target groups and beneficiaries:
The population of Cuiabá; women who are treated at the cancer hospital
Objectives and indicators of success:
Our objective is to increase knowledge and reduce the existing barrier and taboo
about donation of organs and tissues, so increasing the number of volunteers to
the blood center in Cuiabá;
In addition, we hope to increase the blood supply in the
Cuiabá blood center and collaborate with the self-esteem of women who undergo chemotherapy that will receive hair wigs collected.
Methodology:
First, medical students participating in the campaign will be training for action. The first day is for hair collection. Medical students will receive donors, apply a questionnaire on prior knowledge about organs and tissues and then talk about it, in order to raise awareness. Then the person will be directed to donate the hair. On another day, the medical students will go to the blood center of Cuiabá. The questionnaire will be applied among the students and later will be guided by the team of the blood center about the blood donation. They can donate blood or not.
Plans for evaluation:
There will be the application of a questionnaire before and after the two activities carried out
