AIDS day and flashmob in Szeged – Hungary (HuMSIRC)
Name of the activity: AIDS day and flashmob in Szeged
Country/NMO: Hungary (HuMSIRC)
Program: HIV/AIDS & Other STIs
Contact information: [email protected]
Type of the activity: Campaign
General description:
Our activity has two main goal: to stop spreading of HIV and reduce stigmatization.
Focus area:
Prevention of all STIs or are specific STIs, STI testing, Removing stigmatization and empowering people living with HIV, Raising awareness among the general public about STIs
Problem statement:
Informations about HIV are really important as to prevent spreading and also stigmatisation!
Target groups and beneficiaries:
Mostly we are focusing on school-age children but our program is public and available for anyone.
Objectives and indicators of success:
1. Reduce spreading of HIV – lowering the number of newly infected people
2. Dissolve misbeliefs about HIV/AIDS – reducing stigmatisation of infected people
Methodology:
The key is information. If we provide enough and correct information about this disease, spreading and stigmatization will be lowered at the same time.
But for this we need to attract people’s attenion. There are a lot of things we can do: flashmobs, peer education, but it’s really important to use mediums like newspapers, television, radio, internet (news portals, social media) as these kind of informations are available anytime and they are also useful in making our events more popular.
Plans for evaluation:
The most important is that how much people can we reach. Numbers of people participating on our event is a good evaluation and also the feedbacks from teachers of the participating classes and of course feedbacks from participants, reaction of media.
