Problem statement:

According to the WHO every 4th person would at least once need a blood transfusion. Every country should have at least 40 donors for every 1000 people. Unfortunately, the actual number of donors in Russia is below this level and is only 12 for 1000.

Target groups and beneficiaries:

Target groups are students of all the universities/colleges and high school pupils. All the society will benefit, especially blood transfusion stations and services.

Objectives and indicators of success:

1. To increase the willing to be a donor and dispel myths about donation among youths.
Success indicators:
*7 lectures for students of Samara region about procedure of blood and marrow donation, its importance for society (400 attendees)
*2 blood donation campaigns (on May and on November) with Samara blood transfusion station on the base of SamSMU (500 attendants)
* social media campaign: infografics, articles in local groups seen by 100 000 users and liked 20 000 times

Methodology:

1. To make a plan for an upcoming year with approximate dates and places for lectures
2. To contact the universities students societies and and administration and ask their permission
3. To gather a group of volunteers, to educate them how to make and read lectures ( during March)
3. To organize the excursion on Samara blood transfusion station
4. To make a schedule of lectures with detailed dates and places for volunteers
5. To read lectures, write articles about the campaign in social media
6. In May and November to organize the campaign with help of Samara blood transfusion station
