Problem statement:

In Iraq there is a need in hospitals for blood, especially with many accidents and disasters. Also there is a big lack of awareness of the importance of blood to save lives. People are sometimes afraid to donate fearing some misconsumptions.

Target groups and beneficiaries:

Target group are the general community of Iraq.
Beneficiaries are patients in hospitals and also people donating by having their viral status checked up.

Objectives and indicators of success:

Objective no 1: to raise awareness of the general population on the importance of blood donation
Indicator : number of people who will benefit from our awareness action.
Objective no 2 : raise the number of blood donations in our community
Indicator : number of people qho donated in the event.
Objective no 3: to have a bigger database of viral status by having more people having viral screening
Indicator : number of people who had the viral screening

Methodology:

First our target is going to be medical students, We go to medical schools and do lectures on the importance of blood donation.
We then work with the blood donation national center to have them visit our schools and do blood drives in the medical schools to have medical students donate blood.
After that we will target public places, we will booths in parks and cultural events and spread awareness about the importance of blood donations and giving a chance for people who want to donate to take that will into action.

Plans for evaluation:

We will measure the number of people who attended awareness lectures in medical schools.
We will measure the number of people who donated blood in our events.
After two years we will check the statistics of blood donation centers and compare it with the previous database.
We will measure the number of people who had the viral screenings in our event.
We will measere the number os new recorded or diagnosed viral cases.
