General description:

This campaign is expected to disseminate knowledge about
Alzheimer’s disease, generating awareness of the population in general, with the
increase the early detection of the disease through the appreciation of symptoms breaking the paradigm that they are just something common with the advancement of age, thus reducing the sequelae that the patient may acquire and the number of serious cases that occupy beds in public hospitals. In addition, we aim to guarantee a greater awareness of the population about the complications that this disease causes, guaranteeing greater respect to the elderly person with the disease and patience of the family towards them.

Problem statement:

Due to the demographic transition in which Brazil lives, as a consequence of the
life expectancy, the number of elderly people becomes more and more expressive and with this, diseases such as Alzheimer’s Dementia become increasingly prevalent. At the world, about 45 million people are impacted by Alzheimer’s Disease (AD), according to estimates by the organization Alzheimer’s Disease International (ADI). Only in Brazil, the disease impacts 1.2 million people. Due to non-specific symptoms, which are often justified only by the senility factor, the diagnosis of AD It is not simple what implies in the following information that every two people with the disease, only one knows that it has it, which makes DA an issue of public health in which early diagnosis and greater knowledge about this disease will positively impact the quality of life of its carriers and it is precisely in this part that the campaign “Do you remember me? “, which aims to bring more information about this disease and explains it in a form accessible to the population, bringing with it, more interest in the disease and the effectiveness of your treatment when diagnosed early.

Target groups and beneficiaries:

Any persong willing to hear, but our main focus is on elderly people, due to the higher incidence on this group.

Objectives and indicators of success:

To sensitize the population about Alzheimer’s Disease and the complications that the same implies the wearer.
Promote empathy and greater respect towards the sick increase the number of early diagnoses of the disease, preventing further sequelae to the carriers.
Show that it is possible to live with the disease whenis aware of its limitations.

Methodology:

The campaign will be composed of a day of training for all those interested in
participate and by action. The training will be done on 02/21/2018 and consists of a about Alzheimer’s Dementia and how to manage healthy aging by Dr. Michelle Romão, will last one hour and will be at the Faculty of Biomedical Sciences of Cacoal-FACIMED. The action will take place on 02/22/2018, with five hours from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., and will be done at Avenida Porto Velho with all stakeholders who participated in the training. During the action the student will approaching passers-by as if they already knew them and after the strangeness reaction of them it will speak that this sensation resembles that which the bearer of the every day and will take the opportunity to tell you more about the DA and get any doubts, as well as deliver the informative folder. The disclosure of the campaign will be made through social networks such as Facebook, Instagram and Whastapp.

Plans for evaluation:

The impact will be assessed through the report of the passers-by, and also by
questions that students will ask them, such as “How old do you think a
