General description:

The COPD screening campaign has two main goals The first one is to educate medical students on spirometry, COPD and how to conduct the test and interpret the results. The second goal is to bring awereness to COPD and promote its early detection. We have the idea of reaching as many people as we can by promoting the campaign.

Prevention of NCDs and Health Promotion

Problem statement:

The campaign brings awereness to COPD by providing free screening to the population. It promotes early disease detection and the importance of a healthy lifestyle in the prevention of COPD.

Target groups and beneficiaries:

The target group is the general population, especially people exposed to risk factors(smokers, people working with chemicals or that have hereditary burden).
The beneficiaries are the medical students.

Objectives and indicators of success:

Objectives:
Provide appropriate knowledge, tools and skills for medical students about COPD and ways to educate their patients
Promote the application of early detection methods to detect people in early stages of COPD
Indicators of succes:
People reached and medical students educated

Methodology:

We will have a pre-training for the medical students on how to conduct a spirometry and how to interpet and explain the results to the patients.
We will promote the campaign and then condunct it in a public space so that it will reach as many people as possible.

Plans for evaluation:

We will make the evaluation based on the number of people tested and medical students involved.
