Type of the activity: Education. Education on health issues for specific societal groups, either in the form of projects (set of tasks for a certain group over a fixed period of time), events (something notable that happens) or conferences (form meeting about ideas related to a particular topic, usually over several days).
Achtung Liebe is Project of students that aims to offer a modern comprehensive Approach to Sexuality Education. By visiting Schools starting with students at the age of 12 (up to ca. 18 years old) we try to focus on every relevant aspect of sexuality including topics such as anaotmy, puberty, STI, contraception, SOGI, pornography, sexting, realtionships, consent, feelings and personal questions of our students. To insure we offer CSE with high Quality we focus a lot on training our peer educators well. Our training workshop includes sessions of experts from the field of infectiology, gynecology and sexuality education as well as from experienced Achtung Liebe members.
We make sure to offer advanced training to our members as well and encourage them to make use of the international exchanges and Events that IFMSA provides.Secondly we also see it as our Duty to inform the general public and other students by organizing activities for WAD and IDAHOT.
Comprehensive Sexuality Education
The standard of sexuality education in Switzerland varies a lot from school to school and very often doesn’t focus on a comprehensive approach of sexuality. Sexuality education is either not thaught at all or only focuses on biological aspects failing to see the bigger picture of Sexuality that includes feelings, relationships and aims for a sex positive approach. Secondly we think that a lot of teachers and students wish that Sex ed at least partly should be taught by external young people.

Objectives and indicators of success:
– Training students from different fields of studies to teach CSE in Schools; Indicator of success: number of new members that have been trained yearly
– Training members in advanced topics of Sexuality Education; Indicator of success: Number of existing members that took part in an advanced workshop
– Teach CSE to Schools in the German speaking part of Switzerland (mainly Bern, Basel and Zurich); indicator of success: Number of Schools that have been visited
– Invest in international collaborations; indicator of success: Number of people from Achtung Liebe taking part in GA, EuRegMe NECSE, SCORA X-Change, TriNa Workshop (yearly collaboration with the CSE Projects of bmvd and amsa)
– Inform the general public about STI; indicator of success: number of activities for the World Aids Day (WAD)
– Inform the general public about the Rights and acceptance of LGBTQAI* people in Switzerland; indicator of success: number of activities for International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia (IDAHOT)
– Training students to teach CSE: Every year we host 2 national workshops (3 days) where we roughly train around 40 to 60 new members to teach in Schools
– Training members in advanced topics of Sexuality Education: Every year we host 2 national workshops (3 days) where we offer advanced training for roughly 20 to 45 people, every 3 years it’s our turn to organize trinational workshop for roughly 45 people (coming from Germany and Austria as well)
– Teach CSE: Every year we visit over 150 Schools with the Children starting from the age of 12 (up to ca. 18). We teach CSE covering alle relevant (demanded) topics such as anaotmy, puberty, STI, contraception, SOGI, pornography, sexting, realtionships, consent, feelings and questions of our students.
– Invest in international collaborations: We try to motivate our members to take part in international exchanges
– Organizing WAD activities (Up to our local coordinators)
– Organizing IDAHOT activities (Up to our local coordinators)
Plans for evaluation:
In the past years we’ve mainly been collecting data on how many people we train and how many Schools we visit. It’s a bit difficult to measure a “before” and “after” our activity since this Project has been going on since 2001 and and is to be considered a continous Project. Also we have reached our resources to the full extend at the moment so we are not planning to get much bigger within the next years. I am happy to discuss this further with the Program coordinator.
